    Remote Testing Guidelines

    • During the administration of the Ability to Benefit tests, students will be monitored electronically via the Zoom Meetings remote video conferencing service selected by Baruch College and City University of New York.
    • The use of virtual backgrounds, other methods, or technology which distorts or obscures a student’s surroundings is prohibited.
    • Students will be required to share their video, audio, computer screen and computer audio with the test proctor.
    • The use of a dual/multiple monitor setup (including the use of an external monitor with a laptop) during the remote testing session is prohibited.
    • The wearing of watches, fitness trackers, or any other devices during the examination is prohibited, unless authorized as a result of a certified reasonable accommodation request from Student Disability Services.
    • Prior to the start of the examination and at any time during the examination, students will be asked to conduct a “room sweep” to verify conformity with testing protocols and standards (i.e. not engaging in unauthorized or prohibited activities.)

    “Room Sweep”

Students will be required to show the proctor a 360-degree view of their test-taking environment, including their desk, the ceiling, and the floor.

Prior to entering the Virtual Office, students should review their space to ensure that any not-safe-for work items are put away and that their work area is cleared with only their pen/pencil, blank scrap/loose-leaf paper, computer keyboard and mouse are on their desk. All cellphones and electronic devices should be turned off and put away.

Reference Material and Scrap Paper Policy
