Verification of Enrollment

Dear Fall 2024 Faculty:

The verification of enrollment period for Fall 2024 regular session courses begins on Wednesday, September 4 (12:01am) and continues through Tuesday, September 17 (11:59pm). Please note that, unlike past semesters, we will no longer be able to re-open the verification of enrollment rosters after the deadline.

During the verification of enrollment (VOE) period, you are required to verify that all students listed are attending your class. The roster contains officially enrolled students for the course. For your convenience, the default value for the attendance radio button is “Yes, attended.” For any student who has never attended a class and there is no documented evidence of the student’s participation in the course (such as a completed assignment, e-mail response, or signature on a roster), select the “No, never attended” radio button.

Verification of enrollment is a mandatory CUNY requirement. Rosters must be certified for each one of the course offerings as it affects compliance with federal regulations and students receiving financial aid. If a roster is not certified, students will be directed to speak with the instructor.

It is against CUNY and Baruch’s policy for students to attend a course that they are not officially enrolled in. Students attending your course who do not appear on your roster should be asked to email RegistrationIssues@Baruch.cuny.edu.

Please announce in class the names of students that you are not certifying. Mistakes are quite difficult to correct. Students attending your course who do not appear on your roster should be sent to the Registrar’s Office: Library Building, Room 850.

There are three steps that you need to follow:

Claim your CUNYfirst account (first-time users only). You will need this to certify your attendance roster, so now is the time for new faculty to set up the account. First, you may choose to print the instructions for doing this: Print the “Claim Your Account” instructions (.pdf)

Certify your rosters. (Don’t forget independent study, thesis supervision, or internships and labs. Every student roster must be certified. View verification of attendance (VOA) instructions
