When will I hear from the Admissions Office about my application status?
Competitive applications are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis. Students will receive an admissions decision via email within two weeks and postal mail within four weeks of submitting all application materials.
How much does it cost to attend Academy?
2020 Program Cost: $2,995 for day students
Program cost includes: field trips, costs for trip meals, materials, instruction, SAT prep, recreation, and T-shirt. Not included in this charge are costs for travel expenses (commute to and from Leadership Academy) and incidentals.
Deposit: $250 (non-refundable; deposit will be deducted from total Academy cost)
Will participation at the Academy help me get into Baruch College when I apply for undergraduate admission?
Attending the Academy will help a student’s application stand out as it is an intensive extracurricular activity. Students who complete the Academy receive a letter of recommendation, which can be submitted when applying to Baruch College or any other institution.
Do students need to send in all their application components at once?
Applications are reviewed once all Application Materials have been received. It is recommended that students send in all of their application materials at once. Students are encouraged to complete the online application and essay prior to submitting their recommendation forms and transcript.
Where is the Academy?
The Academy takes place at Baruch College’s midtown Manhattan campus. The College’s Vertical Campus, located on 24th Street and Lexington Avenue is the headquarters for our Academy classrooms.
What do I need to bring to the Academy?
All course materials and books are provided to students at the Academy.
Does the Academy provide daily lunch?
Lunch is provided on Thursdays. Students have free time to eat lunch at one of our neighboring establishments on Mondays – Wednesdays.
Discounts
Sibling Discount
A $250 discount will be applied for each sibling admitted into our program in a given year. Parents/guardians should email academy@baruch.cuny.edu to request a sibling discount if they have more than one child attending Academy.
CUNY Employee Discount
Children of full-time CUNY employees who are admitted to the Academy are eligible to receive a $250 discount on the program cost. Parents/guardians who may be eligible for this discount should email academy@baruch.cuny.edu from an official CUNY-issued email address to request this discount. Additional supporting documentation may be requested.
